In 2023 the cities nominated as Italian Capitals of Culture are Bergamo and Brescia.

Among the many events organized in both cities to celebrate, in February it took place the festival of lights named Light is Life, sponsored by the energy company A2A.

A lot of lighting artworks were exhibited along the city centers and, in presence of both the municipalities' majors, the two inaugurations started with a video mapping on the most iconic palaces of the squares: Piazza della Loggia in Brescia and Piazza Vecchia in Bergamo.

Under the artistic direction of Angelo Bonello and the crew of Kitonb Studio, the rental company Sound Service Pelliccioli provided the set up of the video, lighting, audio and stage equipment.

The lighting design was made by Daniele Davino, using for each performance around 50 fixtures between Synergy7 and Evo by DTS, ECL Panel, Sunrise4 and Mosaico by Prolights, and discharge beam moving heads.

A Compulite Vector UltraViolet console programmed by Lorenzo Pagella from Virtual Lighting managed the lighting of the two events, synchronized with the video mapping of the laser projectors controlled by a Watchout system.

After the inauguration events both the mapping shows have been played back in a loop sequence for 10 days, becoming highly appreciated by the public and visitors passing by.
